La Mesita features a serene duo of ponds that are fed naturally by the waters of a neighboring river belonging to the Pueblo of Pojoaque. A beautiful and picturesque duck pond hosts a multitude of wildlife, both local and migratory. With benches and tables for picnicking or enjoying a glass of wine, it's the perfect spot for relaxing, observing and enjoying the wildlife of the area.

La Mesita is named for the ancient mesa that sits within the property. This mesa was at one time the ancestral hub of the people of Pojoaque. The mesa contained cultural objects, relics, ruins and historical resources, which are now expressly subject to the American National Historic Preservation Act.
